In January 2017, Studio Pilates launched its brand new Matwork Course featuring a new Online Training Centre and course manual.

We are now giving Studio Pilates Matwork trained instructors the opportunity to upgrade and receive access to the new Online Training Centre and manual.

Why Upgrade and What is Different

The new Online Training Centre features the best components of the existing course resources with a whole range of exciting new Matwork resources.

New Online Training Centre

• • 3x 1 hour Sample Matwork Class Programs featuring the full beginner-intermediate Matwork repertoire
  • 74x new videos workshopping each of the beginner-intermediate Matwork exercises
  • 38x new videos on the most common physical corrections you should be performing on your clients - for example, palpating Scapula setting in a four point kneeling position, preventing hip flexion, lifting up the arches of the feet and guiding head positioning in plank positions
  • 10x new videos on each of the muscle activation tests - for example how to perform an Iliacus activation test, Serratus Anterior activation test and Gluteus Medius activation tests
  • New sample Matwork Preamble video so you can experience the Preamble in a live class setting

New Course Manual

• • New Matwork Manual is bigger, better, more comprehsive and now approximately 500 pages! (previously 151 pages)
  • 6 new sample class programs (written choreography)
  • All exercises rewritten in a new format based on the Studio Pilates Cueing Formula
  • Additional information under each exercise including more modifications, injury information, recommended palpations to perform, exercise tips and a break down of which target/accessory/stabilising muscles are being recruited during the movement
  • New exercise pictures which illustrate the full movement of each exercise
  • New information on progressing particular series and exercises
  • New content on programming classes and tips for running your classes
  • Fully reworked Pilates Basics and Matwork Preamble sections and scripts
  • All new information on how to perform common muscle activation tests, how to assess a client's activation and indicators which may suggest poor activation

Do I Qualify to Purchase the Updated Matwork Online Training Centre? 

If you have completed the Studio Pilates Matwork Course prior to 2017, you are able to purchase access to the new and revised Online Training Centre

Can I Purchase a Hard Copy of the New Matwork Manual? 

Yes! The new Matwork Manual is pretty big (496 pages!). That's a lot to print out yourself, so if you would prefer a hard copy of the manual, simply select this option at the checkout. Please be aware the digital option when upgrading a course does not include the hard copy manual as this is not a course enrolment as stated on the online training centre, this is a course upgrade. The digital manual isn't able to be downloaded either, you will be able to access this when connected to the internet on a web browser.
