In January 2020, Studio Pilates revamped its Matwork Programming & Progressions Course (previously called “Advanced Matwork” or “Matwork Progressions”), featuring a brand new manual and a never before seen Online Training Centre.

The new course not only features a massive range of new learning materials, but also focuses more on how you actually progress clients through the full matwork repertoire. When clients have been coming to classes for a while, the movements that they have been performing in every class can become less effective over time as the body adapts to the position and load. As such, it is so important as an instructor to have the skills and extended Pilates repertoire to be able to progress your clients through these adaptation stages to continually develop strength and muscle tone. Otherwise you may find that your clients experience plateaus in their progress due to the body’s ability to adapt to the exercises prescribed.

This new course has a massive programming section which gives you tools to program and progress your clients to avoid plateaus.

When you upgrade, we strongly recommend the option to sit in on the 2 day face to face course refresher IN ADDITION to receiving all of the online video content. The revamped face to face course now has a significant programming section on the course which will be highly beneficial to your development as Matwork instructor and will help you to more successfully create class programs for a range of injuries. Plus, you will also cover the brand new exercises in a practical environment which will aid your understanding of these movements. However if you are unable to attend the face to face course, you can still upgrade to the digital videos and only.

Do I Qualify to Purchase the Updated Materials?

Can I Purchase a Hard Copy of the New Course Manual?

Yes! Yes! The new Matwork Progressions Manual is pretty big (474 pages!). If you would prefer a hard copy of the manual, simply select this option at the checkout. Please be aware the digital option when upgrading a course does not include the hard copy manual as this is not a course enrolment as stated on the online training centre, this is a course upgrade. The digital manual isn't able to be downloaded either, you will be able to access this when connected to the internet on a web browser. 

What Does the Hard Copy Manual Look Like?

The hard copy manual is printed double sided and is perfect bound (like a book or textbook). It features a colour cover and black and white printing inside.

What Happens to the Old Matwork Progressions Online Training Centre?

There wasn’t really an old Matwork Progressions online training centre. It was just a mini site with a link to the digital manual. The great news is that we now have a full comprehensive online training centre for this course!

Can I resit the face to face component of the Matwork Progressions Course in the new format? 

Yes! We have upgrade options for just accessing the new online content and upgrade options to resit the face to face course.
